and equipment headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona.
Our History
The origins of Stafford Crane Group can be traced back to 1996, when Derek Stafford founded Stafford Tower Cranes in Dublin, Ireland, starting with a single tower crane. Eight years later, Derek’s brother Patrick recognized the opportunity to bring the business to America. In 2004, with the support of Derek, Patrick and Heather Stafford founded Stafford Tower Crane of America in Phoenix, Arizona.
Since then, Stafford Crane Group has grown to provide more than just tower cranes. We now also rent and sell mobile cranes, self-erecting cranes, overhead cranes and construction hoists. We provide certified operator services for all cranes and hoists. We offer erection and dismantle, technician and consulting services on tower crane projects across the United States and the world. And we operate the Tower Crane School of Phoenix, which provides training for tower and mobile crane operators as well as riggers and signalpersons.
After doing business in Phoenix for over 15 years, Stafford Crane Group has built a reputation as the best provider of lifting equipment and services in Arizona. Based on this reputation, Stafford Crane Group has expanded into new markets and now operates in more than 10 states, with depots in Phoenix, San Diego, Denver, Oklahoma City and Houston. The extent of SCG’s operations does not stop at the United States border: Through Stafford Gruas Torre de Mexico S.A de C.V., Stafford Crane Group offers crane and hoist rentals in Mexico, and through affiliate Lift Cargas, Stafford Crane Group offers crane and hoist services in South America.
Stafford Crane Group remains a family owned and operated business. Derek, through his company Tower Crane Technical Solutions, LLC, is based in San Diego, third brother Jack Stafford, through his company Stafford Crane and Hoist Rigging, LLC, is based in Colorado, and Patrick is based in the Phoenix headquarters, along with Patrick’s son Patrick Stafford III who represents the next Stafford generation. And we continue to operate on the core values that allow us to count among our clients some of the biggest and best contractors in the world.
