Description:  Stafford Crane Group (SCG) is seeking an experienced hoist technician for its headquarters location in Phoenix, AZ. The successful applicant will be responsible for loading, erecting, jumping, dismantling, maintaining and repairing hoists, including troubleshooting and diagnostics, as well as managing hoist event crews.

Requirements:  At least three years’ experience working with hoists, including significant experience with Alimak hoists and significant experience leading erection, jump and dismantle events. Must be able to read electrical schematics and drawings and understand mechanical drive systems, PLC’s and frequency drive systems. Must be familiar with applicable OSHA and ANSI regulations pertaining to hoist events, inspections, maintenance and repair. Must be able to work overtime and weekends on a regular basis and travel periodically.

Description:  Stafford Crane Group (SCG) has an immediate opening for an experienced overhead crane technician at its headquarters location in Phoenix, AZ. The successful applicant will be responsible for installing, repair and inspecting overhead cranes and crane systems, as well as assisting engineers in developing project drawings and supporting sales staff with new project bidding.

Requirements:  At least three years’ experience working with overhead cranes or comparable hoisting systems. Familiar with electrical and mechanical systems, and able to read blueprints, schematics and wiring diagrams. Working at heights required. Must be able to work overtime and weekends on a regular basis and travel periodically.

Duties include: Fabricate components by using equipment to cut, burn, clean, bevel, and weld steel components; Reads blueprints; sets up and measures assemblies in jibs; Verifies welding results by inspecting and testing welds; Documents work by completing records; Maintains safe work environment by following procedures; complying with legal regulations. Must be safe, dependable, work well independently and with others, and take pride in craftmanship. Must have certification or be able to pass test of certification. Competitive wages and benefits.

Minimum 1 years’ experience in the repair and maintenance of commercial vehicles include diesel engines & power trains required. Ideally would have engine certifications in Detroit, CAT or Cummins engines. Must own your own tools. Technical understanding & attention to detail a must. Strong verbal and documentation skills. Dependable, responsible team player with positive attitude and strong work ethic. Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs and is often put in compromising situations where utilizing a lift in place of using the back is the common sense rule.
